Dear Spear fellows,

This is a case I'm going to do next month. Pt is not satisfied with the aesthetics of #8. It's a dark brown endodontically treated tooth with opaque comp covering part of the facial surface.

My tx plan is to do internal bleaching, then external bleaching if the former is not satisfactory, then cover the tooth with Emax crown of 5mm thick HO ( high opacity ) Emax core and 1mm thick HT ( high translucency ) Emax veneer, something I learned from a Spear study club DVD to restore discolored single anterior tooth.

However I've never done an Emax crown like this. Do you know any alternative method to do a regular Emax crown and still get good result?

The effect of internal bleaching on dark brown tooth is usually not too good, I'm thinking to add external bleaching ( what do you think? ), I shall use a single-tooth bleaching tray, right? see the photo below. Do I use 10% carbamide peroxide for up to 8 wks in the reservoir of #8 after removing the opaque comp? Is that how to do it?
