Dear faculty members,

I like to share this interesting case with you. This Pt is 34 years old female with a cheerful personality. Has a full time job, but she sings on the side. She sang on various national events, her dream is to become a professional singer. She mentioned to me that she is so much conscious about her smile to a point that when she sings, she keeps the microphone close to her lips, so her teeth and smile won't show.

She doesn't have any medical history, and no muscles or joint issues.

She lost #8, #9 due to a traumatic accident, when she eventually had a four unit bridge from #7-#10. It didn't look good, because the gum didn't feel normal between the two teeth, so 4 years ago, she went to an oral surgeon where she had 2 implants placed on #8, #9, also she thinks that she had some gum surgery to improve the site at the time, where she thinks it was bone augmentation. Two crowns were placed on the implants. In the next few months, she noticed that her gum got even worse. Also she feels that bubbles of her saliva come from the ligual area between #8 and #9 and burst to the facial of the two teeth which bothers her a lot and you can see it in one of the pictures.

I mentioned to her few times in the past ( she has been my patient for 2.5 years now) if she wants to have anything done to the area, but finance was an issue, also she was afraid to jump to something that would make her smile even worse ( the experience of the implants is still in her mind).

Now she is finally ready, and she understands that a gum surgery might be part of the deal.
